Question: We have an arbor with unstained/unpainted treated lumber posts.  We would like to seal them with Rainforest Sealer so that we could grow grape vines on/near them.  Would this work?  We live near Dallas where the summers frequently get to 100 degrees.
Thanks for your help.

Answer:Yes. Rainforest is excellent on this type of surface and it does harden and seal the Pressure Treated. However, it is a penetrating stain, so while it does encase the wood fiber very well, there will not be a film barrier created between the pressure treated and the grapes.

For a solid food grade barrier between pressure treated wood toxins and fresh growth grapes there are two great options.

Aqualine Solid: Apply one or two coats of Aqualine Solid Stain in your favorite color. Aqualine is non toxic and will do well in the sun. It quickly creates a safe film between the pressure treated wood and the grapes.

Rainforest and Mountain XT: Rainforest Sealer then Mountain XT. Select your favorite stain color for Rainforest and apply a coat of Mountain XT Clear over the Rainforest. Both these products are all natural.

I hope this helps!

Happy planting.

Tom

Just when I thought the bain of my existence was all but stamped out…

Ruby and Lila come home Ethylene Glycol Drunk! POISONED.

To be clear this is the same poison that has been getting dumped down the throats of paint users for decades.

Our coonhounds sprang loose from the back yard and went on their customary jaunt around the neighborhood.

Only somebody left some anti freeze out, they drank some, 2500$ bucks for antidotes and vet care.

We have gotta get rid of the poison! Reminds me of the dispersants (poison) they want to use to fix the Gulf Oil disaster!

How does adding poison to poison get by the american public! ARGHH!!!!

NOT HERE!!!

Earthpaint offers rubbing oils and film forming finishes for floors.

Rubbing oils: Rainforest, Bio Poly NT and Looking Glass or for low traffic floors or for people who want a rustic, maintainable floor. If you want poly don’t use a rubbing oil.

Film Forming Finishes:  Mountain, Aqualine Satin, NanoTech are some of the best floor finishes on earth! As tough or tougher than the competition these finishes are made in a healthy sustainable way and will provide the type of protection you would want from poly but better!

Mountain is a gloss. NanoTech is Semi gloss and Aqualine Satin is satin of course. Mountain is the most renewable and toughest. Aqualine Satin is the lowest odor and arguably the safest. NanoTech is the fastest drying. They are all going to give you the same or better durability than a typical polyurethane.

Everybody wants a great looking deck stain but nobody wants to get poisoned by it. Earthpaint has a solution!

Wash the deck with Lime Clean.

Stain your deck with Mountain XT or Rainforest.

And kick back and enjoy!
