Venetian plaster is a term given to traditional lime plaster which follow in the footsteps of master artisans, primarily from the Italian renaissance.

 

 

Sophisticated, All Natural and Ambient!

The look and feel of marble comes from the fine crushed marble or limestone. Our formula requires no acrylic additives and can go on drywall with a primer coat first applied.

Fun to apply, our native plasters come in ultra smooth and shiny or very rough and textured and anywhere in between.

We slake the lime here for at least 3 months which enables us to custom blend every batch for each customers preferences.

Our formula uses local resources. Nothing is shipped from overseas. This is a low-toxicity, natural product.

This coat could be burnished as a finish coat or more coats may be applied for a smoother, deeper finish.

Drying must be controlled when working with Native Plasters. This wall had a heater blowing on it which should have been turned off. It caused some interesting textures in one area.

The room simply developed more character.

Burnishing: Old World Authenticity

Burnishing brings out the glassy nature of good lime.

This plastic trowel works very good to do the delicate work of burnishing.

Naturally incredible colors come and go.

The burnishing phase is an exciting time.

At the half way point this room has an entirely different feel. It was originally a dark office with little ambience. Now it has a great natural smell and feel with depth and color. This owner decided it was too nice to be an office any longer and chose to turn it into a sacred meditation room.

Stone Coat Masonry Hardener

The final texture is approved by the customer the walls are ready for the sealer.Stone Coat Masonry Hardener is the best non-toxic way to do this.

It is srayed with a plant mister bottle and rubbed in with a cloth. The whole process took one hour and left the walls hard, mold resistant, fireproof, breathable and smelling Great!

Sound Blocking

As the sealer dries the walls undergo a petrification process, similar to fossilization. The color organically settles into it's final tones and hues. Once dried they are locked into stone for the life of the walls!

Additionally as the lime ages it constantly gets harder returning to it's original marble or limestone state.
