Summary

 

Sheen & Coverage: Outside deck stain has a natural Matte Finish. Inside the natural wood finish sheen can be polished up a bit more if desired. The rubbed wood fibers get a nice low sheen glow that can be easily maintained. Sft / gl Coverage is excellent averaging 700 inside and up to 500 outside staining decks. Dry, weathered, rough or porous woods will absorb more of this natural wood finish. For example, on an old dry deck you should figure 300 sft/ gl, which is still considerably better than a conventional deck stain.

Exterior Application: Brush and Roll on Exterior wood. Make sure all deck stain has soaked in by the end of the day. Back brush with a dry brush to work natural wood finish deeper into the wood as needed. Apply one deck stain coat. Giving the wood as much nourishment as it will take. Clean up natural wood finish with Pure Citrus Solvent. No wiping off is necessary outside. Just brush and roll on and let it soak in. If applying deck stain to non porous or new wood, back brush any areas that don't soak in to insure the wood is fully saturated.

Rainforest Sealer Description

 

Rainforest Sealer is the best natural wood finish available for natural wood homes. It is the only deck stain product in it's class without poisons and petrochemical solvents. Long lasting and easy to use, this natural wood finish doesn't make the painter dizzy from solvent overexposure. Made from masterfully selected native oils, tree resins and minerals there are no petrochemical solvents to leech into the atmosphere and no formaldehyde based mildewcides that often drift indoors with most deck stains. The pine rosin is actually recycled from paper manufacturing and the ingredients can be grown back forever. If petrochemicals ran out tomorrow we would still have great looking natural wood finish!

The mineral / element combination that gets stirred up on the bottom of the can is an incredible, non toxic way of dealing with microbrial growth on a deck. This zinc oxide and borate actually tends to intensify within the natural wood itself, travelling where moisture increases. The finish in this way naturally blocks off the food source for many harmful microorganisms. It eliminates the need for the common formaldehyde based biocides used in wood preservatives.

For deck stain areas that have high humidity, shade and black mold problems topcoat Rainforest with Mountain XT. The natural cashew resin used in XT is superior to any deck stain biocide we have seen thus far and creates a surface that black mold stains and algae stain can be washed off of every spring.

Many of our customers prefer to use Rainforest Sealer natural wood finish to treat all of the wood on a home, inside and out. By doing this they can deal with one durable product and simply have it tinted to different colors as needed. When using Rainforest as a stain the wood will be fully saturated with the first, most important coat. This saves time and money and leaves the wood well protected (most stains are 95% solvent, Rainforest is 92.99% Resin). For areas that need more shine or protection, a top coat of Mountain or NanoTech will do nicely inside.

For Decks, Logs and Timber, even Redwood Bridges, Rainforest Sealer natural wood finish leaves the wood absolutely georgeous! Whether it's applied to new deck wood or old wood that is well prepared, this natural coating is able to fortify the wood fibres themselves and provide exceptionally long lifecycles. When maintenance is eventually needed the Minerals and Resins will create our signature "petrification effect". This is unequivically the most sustainable way of preserving wood for centuries. We could say, "It's made from Trees for Trees!" because much of the ingredients are derived from trees.
