Earthpaint offers zero voc colorant made primarily from earth oxides. These carefully selected colorants are at the forefront of zero voc colorant technology. We began working with these colorants long before zero voc became a catch phrase. Of course, zero voc does not mean non toxic but these colors are the closest we have ever been able to find. Raw colorant dust is toxic (like much dust) so we do not offer dry pigment. The pigment must be expertly milled and ground into a fine, dense liquid. Most importantly, the grinding process is done in liquids that do not have a toxic odor and people with chemical sensitivities have tolerated these colors well.
A few things to note about paint and stain colors:
1. Light causes color. The paint color charts are shown with interior and exterior lighting. They are the exact same color chips photographed inside and outside. The difference is lighting. Obviously, lighting is key to color decorating.
2. The Color Charts are designed to show the contrast index from one color to the next. The grey background is carefully selected. It helps to balance and reveal the contrast index from different viewing devices and screens.
3. Pints come pretinted with the colors shown.
4. Gallons and Fives ship separately from the Colorant Containers.
5. We also offer Colorant Containers for sale in our webstore. Mix and match as desired.
6. The Legacy Stain Colors are only available for purchase in Colorant Container sizes (under the Legacy Color name).
